Illustrations for Aribac

Realization of illustrations for the shutters of the Aribac children's bookstore in Milan, Italy.

The design of the shutters for the Aribac bookstore represents one of my earliest commissioned works, an assignment full of challenges and opportunities that allowed me to apply my creativity to a tangible, physical environment.

Aribac is not just a children's bookstore, but a cultural center and gathering place for families. In addition to offering a curated selection of children's books, it hosts educational events and offers a cozy cafeteria. The brief was to transform the store's shutters into an eye-catching mural, capable of reflecting Aribac's lively spirit and commitment to education.

In response to this challenge, I created a series of drawings and proposals that represent the diversity of Aribac's activities. The presence of characters in the form of a book, pencil, and coffee cup was designed to represent the books, education, and hospitality of the bookstore, respectively. The idea was to create a work of art that could be enjoyed not only by the bookstore's customers but also by passersby, making Aribac's facade a landmark in the neighborhood even when the bookstore was closed.

During the execution of the project, I had to deal with my inexperience and some technical difficulties. Despite this, commitment and passion allowed these challenges to be turned into opportunities for learning and growth.
