Daisy

"Daisy" is a garden and balcony spray gun designed for preschoolers to encourage the study of plant care and the rules of nature. Each type of water spray is represented by different colors and graphics. The product includes plastic labels that parents can assign to each pot with the specific spray type for each plant. Our research on product development is based on the analysis of children's ergonomics. A survey was conducted on the safety and behaviors that are involved in the use of children's products. Starting from these parameters, the natural design was derived by testing some structural mock-ups on 5-year-old children. Based on the free forms that resulted from the tests, "Daisy" was designed for an economically reasonable polymer production technique. A two-handed double trigger provides the necessary force and prevents unintended pressure. The trigger system is built into the handle, so there is no room for the child to pinch his or her fingers between it. "Daisy" is suitable for preschoolers as it respects their pre-school cognitive stage, in which they perform active movements, have persistent curiosity, prefer to play with other children, recognize primary colors and believe in imagination. However, they may have difficulty imagining the views of others and understanding the consequences of their actions. During the study of the ergonomics of the product, various tests were conducted, resulting in an improved version of the spray gun with more intuitive affordance for children.
